I haven't really posted much because I didn't really have anything new. However, I've noticed that Baby Dahl is moving around a lot more. This past weekend in Maryland was the first time I felt him shift around. Most of the time it's thumps, but this time it was like a rub. I remember laying in bed awake and thinking to myself that I wish Mark were there because the baby was moving like crazy and it would be a given that he'd feel a lot more than just one or two thumps. Oh well! This past week I've been able to see my belly moving a little through my clothes when the baby is really active. At work I'd be looking at my computer and notice a little twitch from below my blouse. It rarely happens when Mark is around though. *sighs* It's really fun to know that my baby is active...alive and well. So far, that is my favorite part about being pregnant.
Every once in a while I wonder if I'm doing everything right. My diet isn't really the best, and I often feel hungry. However, I'm not stressing about it. I'm not constantly eating fast food and I never was a junk food junky. I always remember to take my prenatal vitamins. So, I think I'm doing alright. I think I've gained about 15 lbs or so, so I think I'm right on track. I've had one or two people tell me that I look like I haven't really gained anything other than for the baby, so I'm hoping they're right. I'm hoping that I won't plump out too much after my first baby and therefore never find a way to get rid of the baby fat later. We'll see.
I have to say that I've been having some bazaar dreams. I try to describe them to Mark in the morning, and I'm so confused I don't even know how to explain what happened. Last night I dreamed that I was at someone's house and this big black spider kept trying to catch me and bite me. I knew I wasn't allowed to just step on it and kill it because the couple (whose house I was at) were telling me how it was they're financial advisor and it does a really good job. They even recommended it to their neighbors who had an appointment with it just the other day. In that same dream, their cat kept bugging me and wouldn't leave me alone when I told him to go away. He would stand on his hind legs and try to get me to take his front paws. I just took a book and whacked it across the face so that it would just quit. See...I'm a cat person...so this was really out of character for me. Yeah...so...really bazaar dreams that I really don't know how to explain or interpret....so I'll not even try. I hear that strange dreams are often due to pregnancy, but I won't even try to document the strangest parts of my dreams from last night. At least having dreams means that I'm sleeping. I pretty much get a good solid sleep until sometime between 5:30 and 6:45am. Then I have to change positions because my left shoulder is sore, not to mention go to the bathroom. At least it doesn't usually take me long to fall back asleep. I'm hoping that I can still be this comfortable when my belly is twice the size it is now... how realistic that hope is, that's a different story.
I have another doctor's appointment on Monday, so if there's anything wrong, they'll be sure to let me know. I decided to not even call the ultrasound office to make another appointment. That doctor told me that he thinks everything is fine, but he just wanted to have another look to make sure. I don't know, but I really just don't feel the need to go in again. I'm going to be going to my OB several more times, and I'm pretty certain that if something is wrong, she will catch it. In general it still looks like my pregnancy is going along just swimmingly, and I'll let you know if something comes up.

Fun to hear about your pregnancy antics! It really is so fun, isn't it?? :) Yup - the dreams usually come right along with everything. I remember when I was super stressed about finding out the sex of my son the next day I drempt that it was a boy, who switched to a girl, who switched to a boy and back and forth. I woke up like... hm.. k.
About the nutrition thing, I'm sure you're doing just fine. Any vitamins and minerals the baby and you need, you are getting from the prenatal vitamin. Short of that, the miracle (or curse? lol!) of pregnancy is that if you aren't getting adequate nutrition, the baby will take it first. (which is why so many pregnant women get anemic, but the baby is fine - the baby takes the iron and leaves the mother without enough) I always took comfort in that - as long as I knew the baby was OK, I wasn't that worried about myself - of course I still tried to stay healthy though, for the sake of the baby! But I didn't dwell on nutrtion knowing I was eating well enough for the baby to get the nutrition it needed.
:) fun times, Kat! I'm so happy for you guys!
